The (he)art of community training

A 4-Session Training on Community Building, Self-Organization & Collective Culture

How do we move from simply showing up to shaping spaces we truly belong to? How do we co-create cultures and structures that feel alive, shared, and meaningful?

In this hands-on, experiential training, we’ll explore the art and practice of community-building across different contexts,  from eco-villages and activist circles to creative collectives and care networks. This series is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and learn practical ways to strengthen community life in times of disconnection and fragmentation.

Over three sessions, we’ll explore key frameworks, embodied practices, and facilitation tools that support deeper connection, shared purpose, and self-organization.

Throughout our journey, we will explore

Session 1: From Participation to Belonging

What makes a group feel like a real community?
We’ll explore the difference between being present and feeling at home. Through reflection and group practice, we’ll uncover what builds trust, safety, and shared ownership.

Session 2: From Belonging to Co-Creation

We’ll explore how to move from connection to collaboration.
Learn frameworks for shared power, distributed leadership, and participatory culture — and how to bring them to life in your context.

Session 3: Facilitating a community

In this session, we will dive deeper into facilitation and conversational techniques that can support the community.

Session 4: From Co-creation to tending to the Community’s Potential

This final session is where vision meets practice.
You’ll map needs and roles in your own group, explore collective governance tools, and begin prototyping practices that support long-term thriving.
